A homeowner in Clay County discovered someone trying to take out their window air conditioning unit early Monday morning. The resident got their shotgun and went outside to check, where they encountered the suspect, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
The event took place at the intersection of Devilwood Street and Discovery Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, when the homeowner approached the suspect, the latter moved toward him. To warn the suspect, the homeowner discharged a bullet into the ground and kept the individual at gunpoint until law enforcement officers showed up.
The suspect was arrested.
